The Fitzgeralds of St. Paul

Book, Music and Lyrics by Christie Baugher

The Fitzgeralds of St. Paul is a two-person, one act full-length chamber musical about F. Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald, celebrated literary figures of the Jazz Age. Part memory play, part gin-soaked vaudeville, The Fitzgeralds of St. Paul is a fictionalized, hyper-theatrical imagining of an infamous marriage – an evening in which two tragic, larger-than-life icons of a bygone era finally get to tell their story.

The Fitzgeralds of St. Paul will be presented in concert at Adelphi University on September 9, 2023 at 3 PM as part of the Larson Legacy series.  Tickets and more info can be found here.

The Fitzgeralds of St. Paul was presented in part at the 2023 ASCAP Musical Theatre Workshop (Stephen Schwartz, Artistic Director) in Los Angeles, directed by Danny Mefford and featuring Jewell Wilson Bridges as Scott and Shannon O'Boyle as Zelda.  This presentation featured music supervision and direction by Matt Castle and Frank Galgano, accompaniment by Gregory Nabours, and was produced by Anne Kelly (executive producer, Switchboard Operations).

The Fitzgeralds of St. Paul was an official selection of the 2020 Pacific Playwrights Festival at South Coast Repertory (David Ivers, artistic director).

The Fitzgeralds of St. Paul was presented to a sold-out house at Joe's Pub at the Public Theater on Monday, August 26, 2019 at 7 PM.

Fitzgeralds is currently in development with Switchboard Operations and previously was developed with Fault Line Theatre as part of their Irons In The Fire series.  It was also presented as part of the York Theatre Company’s NEO Developmental Reading Series in 2016, directed by Danny Mefford (Fun HomeDear Evan Hansen) and featuring Ken Barnett (Mozart In The Jungle) and Tiffany Topol (Once).
